About

About the Accounts Payable Professionals Group

Accounts Payable Professionals Group (APPG) was founded in 2008 in Newark, NJ United States by Robert Ruhno. Our official website is ap-professionals.com.

The Accounts Payable Professionals Group is a community built to help AP teams learn, connect, grow, and support each other. What began as a simple LinkedIn group has grown into one of the most active and helpful AP communities worldwide. Members include professionals from every type of company and every level of experience.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide AP professionals with a place where they can share knowledge, stay informed, and grow in their careers. This community focuses on real world challenges and real world solutions that help AP teams work smarter. Everyone is welcome, whether they are new to the field or leading large AP departments.

Who We Serve

We support professionals who work in:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Procure to Pay
  • Shared services
  • Vendor management
  • AP automation and financial systems
  • Small business accounting
  • Treasury and finance operations

APPG brings together people who manage the daily processes that keep organizations operating smoothly.

Our Story

My name is Robert Ruhno. I founded APPG after spending many years working in AP, accounting, and financial operations. During that time, I noticed that AP teams rarely had a dedicated place to talk openly about their work or learn from each other.

I wanted to create a space where professionals could ask questions, share challenges, and support each other without sales pressure. Over time, the group grew far beyond anything I expected, and the website became a natural extension of that mission. It allows us to publish articles, support members, highlight opportunities, and provide AP resources.

What You Will Find Here

  • Helpful articles and guides
  • Community insights and discussions
  • Tools, templates, and resources
  • Vendor spotlights
  • AP job listings
  • Industry conversations

Everything on this site is created to support AP professionals and help them succeed in their roles.

A Message From the Founder

Thank you for being part of this community. Whether you found APPG through LinkedIn, a post, or a colleague, I am glad you are here. This group works because of the people who contribute, support each other, and show up with a desire to learn and grow.

If you have ideas, if you want to contribute content, or if you want to get involved, I would be glad to hear from you.
